Our commitment to sustainability means you can enjoy innovative courses, thrilling experiences and restorative journeys that respect the planet and nurture your well-being.
Isle Maritime Training Ltd was founded in 2025 by Dave and Sophie Herschel, with a pioneering approach to sustainable, RYA-certified training, true eco-tourism and fossil-fuel-free travel. From our home waters in Guernsey, we are leading the way towards the decarbonisation of the marine leisure sector, with immediate, momentous reductions to our environmental impact whenever we go afloat.
The Bailiwick of Guernsey enjoys mild weather for much of the year. Our stunning, granite-strewn tidescapes provide the scope for additional levels of challenge - it is often said that anybody who learns to navigate safely here can do so just about anywhere.
St. Peter Port Harbour is an ideal base, with sheltered waters close by, offering a huge variety of pilotage features, including a within a RAMSAR-designated wilderness area. Perched on the quayside, our historic town has plenty to offer ashore - ask us for more details.

Training
Paloma, our Humber Offshore Pro RIB, runs on 100% renewable HVO fuel instead of fossil diesel, cutting net carbon emissions by 96%. Made from plants, HVO burns cleaner, reduces harmful emissions, and extends engine life. Paloma, meaning “dove,” is our symbol of hope for a greener future.

Training
Each of our three Colgate 26 keelboats is equipped with a Tema 1000 electric outboard, for easy marina manoeuvring and silent transition between your starting point and sailing area. These sophisticated motors were developed and are manufactured close by, on the Brittany coast.
